Passwords

 

The password used at logon has changed from 6 to 8 Characters in length.

 

Tip: Many users were not aware of this and had passwords they thought were over 6 characters in length.

 

For example a password of ‘mynameis’ in version 11 was saved as ‘myname’ – 1^st 6 characters only. In the upgrade to version 12 it will still be only ‘myname’ in the system, and as version 12 will accept and save 8 characters, entering ‘mynameis’ will now fail with an ‘*unknown  user’ message, as the password is in fact just ‘myname’.
